Let’s start with the design concept： R2 adheres to Taiwan’s unique design style in both design and manufacturing. Here，we present the GPW Fixed Wing specially designed and developed for Yamaha’s new generation racing bike YZF-R7，dedicated to R7/R15V4 owners！
From the prototype to the final product，after months of trials on various tracks like Taiwan’s Grand Prix Circuit and K1 Mini Circuit，and discussions with different professional/amateur riders，adjustments were made. Unlike conventional aerodynamic kits that prioritize "trends" and "styling，" GPW series kits insist on meeting the demands of both the racetrack and high-speed performance. To accommodate the R7’s explosive torque and twin-cylinder agility，the design was tuned to generate downforce earlier，prioritizing stability during braking and cornering. This fluid dynamics design enhances deceleration during braking and boosts confidence when accelerating out of corners at high speeds. (Professional riders note： the difference in ground adherence between installed and uninstalled kits on straight lines is significant，giving me more confidence to push braking limits.)
Designed with fluid dynamics considerations，the two-tiered layered structure ensures stability while maintaining agility during cornering，enhancing the R7’s aggressive front end with a multi-layered visual effect.
As for the R7’s younger sibling，the R15V4，even though its speed isn’t as high and aerodynamics have less impact，it still shares the same cool design as its big brother，hence we’re passing down the R7’s technology directly to it！
What are the differences between FDM and SLS processes？ R2SPEEDTEK has been utilizing high-precision industrial 3D printing technology to offer a variety of products to riders and customers for six years. Now，it’s time to introduce our new weapon.
Thanks to the generous support and recognition from domestic high-tech manufacturers，R2 has the opportunity to lead in applying advanced processes to consumer products，making them more accessible. We’ve selected the GPW-R7/R15V4 for thorough upgrades. Thanks to the high flexibility of SLS nylon powder sintering technology，similar designs can achieve incredible lightweight with less material.
For instance，the original FDM version of the R15V4’s one side weighed 148g，already lightweight compared to injected plastic imitations. Now，with the SLS process，one side weighs 119g，outperforming even if there were equivalent designs in hot-pressed carbon fiber.
Due to its high flexibility，the SLS process reacts differently to impacts compared to FDM. FDM typically shatters upon impact，dispersing the force (crucial for protecting your fairings). SLS，however，has a greater deformation allowance to disperse impact force，but the result is the same： scratches and damage.
Also，thanks to the single-piece molding technology，there’s no need for additional assembly，allowing us to convey our design concepts more comprehensively. This time，adjustments were made to the lines and curves，making the front wing ends lighter and the rear wing curves more streamlined. Of course，one downside of single-piece molded kits is higher shipping costs，which is why many kits are designed to be disassembled into multiple parts.
The new material，made from nylon powder sintering less than 0.1mm，allows for finer designs and presents a futuristic stealth gray appearance. Applying silicone oil or matte wax gives it a glossy texture. With a finer surface texture，any paint adheres easily，and once sprayed，it quickly dries and resists scratches，making customization more convenient for consumers. Hence，R2 kits are shipped without any further processing or finishing.
